Bio / CV
In my artistic expression, I intertwine the threads of my Pennsylvania Dutch ancestry with the vibrant hues of my queer identity, crafting a tapestry that celebrates both tradition and individuality. Drawing from the rich heritage of textile craftsman passed down through generations, I embark on a journey of creativity that honors the past while embracing the future.
The kaleidoscope of color that adorns my work, I breathe new life into discarded materials, patterns from my mom’s unfinished projects and transforming loose threads into vibrant compositions that speak to the resilience of the human spirit. My work playfully balances geometric compositions that often relate to traditional quilt imagery.
As an advocate for anti-waste practices, I find inspiration in the over looked and forgotten, giving voice to the stories woven into every scrap of fabric. By repurposing materials that might otherwise be discarded, I strive to challenge conventional notions of beauty and value, inviting viewers to reconsider their relationship with the world around them.
